Unfortunately, I was deeply disappointed. =( In fact, I've already e-mailed a friend to see if she'd be interested in 2 of the 5 items from my box because I'm not going to use them. But, before I get ahead of myself, here's what I got:
1. Bulgari {Bvlgari?} "Omnia Crystalline Eau de Toilette Spray". I love this! Lord knows I love me some perfume, and this is no different. The scent it nice, clean & fresh. Not over powering.
2. Fresh "Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment". Unfortunately, I already have this product. It was my *free* gift for my birthday from Sephora. In fact, it came in a double pack {from Sephora}. So I'm not going to use this one. The product is ok - not a real lot of color. Feels good on the lips initially, but then gets a little greasy for me.
3. Kiehl's "Abyssine Cream" - gee, when I think of "Gossip Girl" I don't think of anti-aging moisturizer. But I'll give it a try. {of course, I've never actually watched "Gossip Girl"...}
4. Miracle Skin Transformer Body SPF 20 in Glow - a tinted body moisturizer? Really? It's all I can do to remember to shave every week. I'm hardly going to remember to slather myself in a tinted body cream. Next please.
5. Extra: note cards - ok, it was kind of cute. But it's a postcard really, not a Thank You note. Not to me anyway. As for an extra, I'm not impressed.
So overall I'm disappointed with this box. I really only like the perfume sample. The lip treatment & body lotion I'm never going to use. It's not the worst box I've gotten, but it's certainly not the best one. Still worth the $10, but.... well.... maybe a few Starbucks drinks would have been more satisfying.

Have to say i would have been thrilled with the moisturiser and less so with the perfume.
ReplyDeleteI am guilty of slavering myself in body lotions on a daily basis, and feel dry and yucky if I don't. I even mix a little tinted stuff in with my regular stuff.
Perfume wise, I have old favourites that I am reluctant to diverge from - mainly Givenchy Ysatis but also Burberry Touch..
I guess they can't please all of the people all of the time as the saying goes, and at least you gave your friend a little treat which is good!

it's true lou- they can't please everyone all the time. i guess i was just expecting something a little different since there was such hype about this being a special 'gossip girls' box. as for the lotion, i slather body lotion on every day & tinted lotion on my face. but tinted body lotion, just seems like too much for me. you interested? i'll gladly send the sample on to you! =) just send me an e-mail and let me know!

ReplyDeleteHm, I'm not sure what is exactly "Gossip Girl"-like about the contents, but you've got some interesting products. I've never tried Kiehl before so I'd be interested to know if that cream works out.

ReplyDeleteMAGS! I don't watch Gossip Girl, but from the looks of your box I'm not sure what's so Gossip Girl about it. I will say that as a Kiehl's user, you might love the Absynne Cream. I'm actually anxious to try that. I'll let you know what I get in my box as soon as I get it... I just got the email today saying they sent it. What's up with that? I'll send you my perfume if I get it. LOVE being swap buddies!
